    Research Resource Identification Portal
The location for obtaining and exploring RRIDs - persistent and unique identifiers for referencing a research resource

Welcome

This is the Resource Identification Portal, supporting guidelines for Rigor and Transparency in scientific publications. If you are an author, please find your key resources: Antibodies, Model Organisms, Cell Lines, Plasmids, and other Tools (software, databases, services). Just copy the RRID citation into your paper. If you can't find your resource add a new one, we make it easy (big green button on the bottom of this page).

The Resource Identification Portal was created in support of the Resource Identification Initiative, which aims to promote research resource identification, discovery, and reuse. The portal offers a central location for obtaining and exploring Research Resource Identifiers (RRIDs) - persistent and unique identifiers for referencing a research resource. This portal relies on the good work of many community repositories such as MGI, Addgene, MMRRC and Cellosaurus. These community databases are the source for RRIDs of their type. If you used a resource, especially one created by your colleagues, please cite it using the RRID, if you created a new resource, we link you to the place where you can deposit that key resource in a community repository. Some examples are shown below, which are linked to metadata about each resource:
